Deb has been counselling couples, individuals, families, children and adolescents for 25 years since graduating from Social Work in 1998. Over the past 10 years Deb has been following her passion for working therapeutically primarily with couples. In this work, Deb provides a non-judgemental, unbiased and respectful space to support and assist couples gain new understandings about themselves – both individually and within their intimate relationship. Further – within the couples work, she maintains a strong focus on the safety and wellbeing of children who are often exhibiting distress about the state of the parental relationship. Deb has also developed a strong interest in assisting couples around the complex role of becoming and being a parent – from prenatal to adolescence. Deb works alongside couples to identify their relationship’s strengths and challenges. She helps individuals/couples clarify their therapy goals, working on how to reduce their relationship stress and experience a more fulfilling and satisfying life. Deb is passionate about sharing with her clients the established wisdoms and the exciting research of what makes couple relationships successful. Dr Bert Oraison has over ten years of counselling experience, particularly in areas of depression and anxiety. He engages in active collaboration with clients in order to empower them and improve self-esteem and assertiveness. He is fluent in Spanish, Italian and French. Bert uses a holistic approach in assisting his clients to improve emotional and behavioural functioning focusing on areas like self-esteem, self-worth and confidence. Bert has significant involvement with clients of different ethnic backgrounds and is fluent in Italian and Spanish. In addition, he has a special interest in eating disorders and clients who have had bariatric surgery. Bert focuses on the impact of chronic pain and chronic symptoms have on the psychological well-being of clients and utilises strategies to overcome these issues.

Dr Elizabeth Pizarro is a registered Clinical as well as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist and is a Board Approved Supervisor. She has more than 15 years of clinical experience. She has expertise supporting children, teens, young people, and their parents/carers with a range of challenges and mental health issues. She combines her knowledge of the evidence-base with a collaborative person-centered approach to tailor and individualise treatment. She approaches therapy and her clients with respect, empathy and warmth, and considers clients to be experts in their own lives. Therapy is not prescriptive, but rather collaborative and exploratory. She has worked in a range of settings, including community health, private practice, schools and hospitals. In addition to private practice, she currently also works as senior lecturer in a university setting, where she trains postgraduate psychology students completing their final years of training before registering as psychologists. She completed her PhD in 2019 and continues to conduct clinical research to better understand emotion regulation and sociocognitive skills in adolescents and young people with and without mental health issues, and how emotion regulation is socialised/taught (via modelling and responses from those around us).

Mia is a registered psychologist with a Doctorate in Psychology with a forensic specialisation. She has several years’ experience working with adults of all ages within a forensic context as well as more generally in private practice, and across a broad range of issues. Mia recognises that it can be daunting to speak to a psychologist and to share your private world. Mindful and respectful of this, her therapeutic approach is one of unconditional positive regard. She provides a warm and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe sharing your story and feel empowered to make change. Nathan Gilbert is a child and adolescent psychologist (and young adults) with 4 years of full time clinical experience in private practice. She has over twenty years of counselling experience. She loves seeing transformation in people’s lives, and is passionate about living in a world where people are happier and resourced to live their full potential. Marianne tailors the techniques she uses to the specific needs of each client, and she enjoys utilizing a variety of person-centered therapies. Marianne is able to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and concerns. Marianne deals extensively with complex trauma. Marianne works collaboratively with her clients to identify and reach their goals. With extensive training in cognitive behavioural therapy and solutions-focused therapy, Marianne also has a keen interest in experiential methods. She’s completed 10 years of training in psychodrama, and has also trained in emotion-focused therapy and eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy (EMDR).

Salma is a registered provisional psychologist who has completed her undergraduate and Honours in psychology and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Salma has worked with a range of clients including adolescents, young adults and people in later adulthood with the vast variety of presenting problems and disabilities including depression, anxiety, autism, post-traumatic stress disorders, substance use, and personality disorders. Salma has clinical experience across a range of settings, including mainstream schools, specialist schools, early intervention settings, community health settings and private practice.
