Salma is a registered provisional psychologist who has completed her undergraduate and Honours in psychology and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Salma has worked with a range of clients including adolescents, young adults and people in later adulthood with the vast variety of presenting problems and disabilities including depression, anxiety, autism, post-traumatic stress disorders, substance use, and personality disorders.
Salma has clinical experience across a range of settings, including mainstream schools, specialist schools, early intervention settings, community health settings and private practice.
Salma’s therapeutic approach is client centred in nature, with a strong emphasis placed on empathically supporting children and families through effective and warm communication and incorporating various techniques in the past to support her clients, such as, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance, and commitment therapy, exposure gradual therapy, mindfulness in order to facilitate comfort and positive change.
