Aarthi Udayakumar

Counsellor

Aarthi is registered as a clinical counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). She brings over 5 years of experience working directly with clients from all walks of life. Aarthi has experience working with individuals and families experiencing concerns relating to domestic and family violence, trauma, grief and loss, child welfare and wellbeing, relationship breakdown, as well as depression, anxiety and a variety of other mental health issues. Aarthi speaks fluent English and Tamil and has had the opportunity to gain lengthy experience working with many clients who are culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD). Aarthi supports families and children in her capacity as a counsellor by adopting a ‘no judgement’ approach. She has experience using trauma informed, strengths-based and outcomes focussed practices. Aarthi is dedicated to providing a service that is person-centred. She does this by approaching each session in a manner that is tailored and purposeful for the individual. Her therapeutic approach is evidence-based and includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as Creative and Play therapy. “As a counsellor, I believe it is important to be empathetic and supportive. Alexander is a highly professional and compassionate psychologist with over 14 years of experience in counselling psychology. Alexander has clinical experience providing psychological interventions to individuals, families and couples experiencing significant and longstanding difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-worth, grief and trauma. Alexander is genuine and passionate about supporting his clients. Hed takes a warm and non-judgmental approach in assisting his clients gain insight into their issues. Support is individually tailored so that clients find constructive ways to develop desired skills and navigate through challenges. Alexander employs an integrative therapeutic approach drawing on a variety of evidence-based techniques including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, solution-focused therapy and emotion-based therapy. Ksenia works with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting them through a variety of psychological concerns with a warm, compassionate, and gentle approach. Ksenia has experience in both public and private settings, including a strong background in the child protection sector, where she worked closely with vulnerable youth. She is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing space for her clients, helping them explore their inner worlds, build resilience, and develop strategies to navigate life’s challenges. Her therapeutic approach is person-centred and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy (ST) and trauma-informed practices. She is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has experience working with adults and adolescents of various ages and cultural backgrounds. She offers Diagnostic assessments and reports, Evidence-Based therapeutic interventions, Workers Compensation claims, and help clear NSW State Debt through the Workers Development Order program. She is living her passion as a registered psychologist working collaboratively with her clients to create positive change and transformation. She is inspired by the belief that authenticity is the natural state in all of us and that a good therapeutic relationship is the starting point for actioning change. As a psychologist, Leslie is well informed in research and use evidence-based therapies that adhere to the ‘scientific-practitioner’ model. Marijn sees clients aged 14 and up. Marijn is a clinician with a strong passion for her work and life-long learning. As a clinician, she works with respect and genuine interest as key foundations for building a therapeutic alliance. She uses evidence based interventions to enable insight and positive change for clients. She is registered as a Provisional Psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency) and is an Associate Member of the APS (Australian Psychological Society). Prior to training and working as a Psychologist, Marijn held positions as a senior executive in corporate finance and treasury. Interest Areas Marijn works with a wide range of presentations, including depression, anxiety (generalised, social, phobias, panic), substance use, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and grief, anger, stress and self-esteem concerns. She further has a specific interest in sleep-wake problems, including insomnia and circadian rhythm disorder. Mark has been journeying with people throughout Australia and the UK for some 30 years as they navigate life challenges in his roles as an ordained Minister and military Chaplain. He holds a Master of Counselling, and a Graduate Certificate in Emotion-Focused Therapy and lecturers in Counselling and Psychotherapy at differing Institutes in Sydney and is PACFA accredited. His psychotherapeutic education is founded on the Person-Centred Therapy framework, and in collaboration with the specific needs and goals of a client, integrates aspects of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Attachment, Focusing and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Monica is an experienced therapist who is passionate about empowering adults, children, and families impacted by adversity and disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the last decade, she has helped clients transform relationships, develop life-changing coping skills, and foster resilience and autonomy. Monica has extensive training in mental health including a Master of Clinical Psychology, Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology, and Postgraduate Diploma of Social Health and Counselling. She is also an accredited provider of the Cool Kids Anxiety program. Monica's therapeutic approach is person-centred, strengths-based, and eclectic, tailoring her services to each client's unique needs and preferences. She draws from a diverse toolkit of evidence-backed therapeutic modalities (CBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, DBT, Systems Therapy) to suit client preferences and work with diverse presentations eg. depression, anxiety, OCD, ASD, trauma, domestic violence, low self-esteem, and ADHD.
