Lauren May is an experienced manual therapist with nearly two decades of experience in private practice settings in both Australia and Canada. Lauren completed her Masters of Physiotherapy at Curtin University.
Lauren’s specialty areas and clinical interests include: headaches and neck/back pain, TMJ (jaw) pain/dysfunction, dry needling, clinical exercise rehabilitation, strength training during peri/menopause, post-surgery rehabilitation and sports injuries. In addition to this, Lauren offers second opinions for clients with previous unsuccessful physiotherapy journeys, as well as mentoring and educating junior physiotherapists.
After running two busy private physiotherapy practices for the last nine years, Lauren has made the move to Darlington to help you get out of pain and move better. Lauren has worked as the physiotherapist for West Perth in the WAFL, Arena Joondalup Swim Club, UWA Soccer Club and Touch Rugby State Championships. She has also worked in a FIFO role in the Pilbara.
Lauren is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mental Health First Aid trained practitioner. With an understanding of how mental health affects the physical body, Lauren can help you uncover the roadblocks to why you may not be progressing with your treatment.
Hobby-wise, after two decades of martial arts and soccer, local resident Lauren nowadays prefers to spend her days running or riding the trails of the Perth Hills. You may be lucky enough to see Lauren’s hypoallergenic toy moodle, Odie, as the resident therapy dog in Darlington!
