Miss Semhar Hagoss(She/her)

Psychologist

I’m a dedicated psychologist with a robust background in psychology and a deep commitment to fostering the mental well-being of individuals, particularly young people. My extensive experience covers a broad spectrum of psychological issues, enabling me to effectively address diverse mental health challenges and offer personalised support to clients in a culturally sensitive and neurodivergent-affirming manner. I integrate a trauma-informed and intersectional framework into my practice. With a compassionate and empathetic approach, my focus is on helping clients navigate their emotional well-being, fostering positive growth, and achieving a high quality of care. I utilise a variety of modalities and collaborate with clients to choose the best approach, drawing from methods such as Narrative Therapy, Trauma-focused CBT, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Complicated Grief Therapy, and Family Therapy. Registered with AHPRA and member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc and Australian Psychological Society.

Mr Amal Saleh-Zada

Counsellor

I am a registered counsellor. I have been working with adolescents, young adults and adults for over ten years. I consider the role of counsellor to be a privilege. Humour is the biggest strength I bring to the counselling space. I am particularly interested in Men’s mental health and strive to create a safe space for open discussions around feelings, emotions and challenges that men face. The quality of our working relationship has a significant impact on the counselling process. We will work collaboratively to help increase your self-awareness of your relationship with yourself and others and explore any obstacles preventing you from living your best life by helping you develop the skills to achieve it. Although various counselling modalities exist, I will use a combination of approaches, including person-centred (client-led), solution-focused, and CBT. At times you may laugh with me, and more often than not, you will laugh at me…but it’s all part of the fun. In my downtime, I enjoy a hike in the middle of nowhere, my martial arts class, and drawing if I am not doing some woodwork or learning about the latest tech gadgets.

Ms Madeleine Bourke-Ibbs(She/her)

Psychologist

Hi, I’m Maddy (she/her). I live and work in Naarm/Melbourne on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people. I am a white, cis, able-bodied and neurotypical woman. I am also a clinical psychologist. I currently work with teens and adults aged 16+ regarding experiences including anxiety, mood, identity, gender, neurotype, life transitions, grief and relationships. My areas of expertise include supporting neurodivergent folk (particularly autistic people and ADHDers) to identify and understand their neurotype, as well as to build self-compassion and acceptance, communicate their experiences and needs to others, access accommodations and supports, and manage stress or burn out. Outside of the Therapy Hub, I also work at the Royal Children’s Hospital Gender Service and have significant experience working with trans and gender diverse young people to socially, legally and medically affirm their gender, or just to talk through their experiences. I am passionate about social justice and providing inclusive, anti-oppressive mental health care. I work from the social model of disability, which means that I recognise there is nothing inherently wrong with you, and that disability arises from barriers in society, such as a lack of accommodations and discrimination. I understand that my privileges leave me with biases that I am continually working to understand and dismantle, which I do so by listening to lived experiences voices. I draw on therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy. I work from an identity-affirming approach, which means I celebrate the natural diversity of the human experience, and always believe, listen and strive to understand your unique identity and experiences without pathologising them. I hope to support you to live your most authentic life. My therapeutic approach is warm, honest, authentic, collaborative and playful. Anything that makes you feel safe and helps you to unmask is welcome and encouraged in session (e.g. stimming, Telehealth/camera off, using fidget tools, sensory adjustments). The services I offer are include: - Psychological counselling/therapy for individuals aged 16+ - Neurodiversity-affirming autism and ADHD assessments for adults 18+ - WPATH assessments
