Overview

Tammie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and director of CSC. She takes a person-centered, trauma-informed, collaborative and strengths-based approach to her work with clients. Staying true to her social work background, she draws on social-ecological systems theory and feminist theory to help place and make sense of individuals and their struggles into a larger world that shapes their interactions with themselves and others. Tammie works with individuals from 18 years and up, and couples to help them make sense of their challenges and develop better ways of managing difficult times. She has a particular interest in working in early trauma and attachment wounding, and people who struggle with self-esteem, self-worth and confidence issues, and those who struggle with anxiety, depression or PTSD symptoms or symptoms of complex trauma. Tammie is a EMDR therapist and also integrates Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Poly Vagal theory, CBT, ACT and Mindfulness into her work with clients. Tammie is a passionate lifelong learner, loves to read and listen to podcasts. She is an animal lover, particularly of her Staffy, Punky, who is in Visiting Dog training and joins Tammie in the Brunswick clinic on a Thursday.
