Marya’s passion for mental health stems from her childhood, as she spent her schooling years in a rural country town where access to mental health support and resources were limited. Thus, her main focus is to provide therapy in a collaborative way and help individuals create their own personalised, achievable and long-lasting solutions to manage their mental health.
Marya has built a passion for working with individual presentations including Mood Disorders (e.g. Depression), Anxiety related disorders (including PTSD) and personality disorders. She has utilised a range of interventions, such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectal behaviour therapy to treat a wide range of presentations.
She describes therapy as a rewarding experience and enjoys seeing her clients grow into independent individuals.
Marya has a love for working with a diverse range of clients, of all ages and from all cultural backgrounds. She is bilingual and able to speak Arabic and English fluently.
When she is not working, Marya enjoys spending time with her close family including her nieces and nephews, going to the gym or enjoying nature!
