Brooke Johnston(She/her)

Exercise Physiologist

Brooke is ‘All About Kids’ first Exercise Physiologist who is passionate about helping children and youth with their movement in a fun and engaging setting. Brooke offers unique Exercise Physiology sessions through the use of Albany Creek Gymnastics Club. This fun and innovative environment creates the opportunity to provide play-based exercise therapy, as well as weight-based strength training for a more traditional approach. Brooke has a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology. Prior to graduating, Brooke worked with children for 4 years as a recreational gymnastics coach. Throughout her gymnastics coaching experiences and clinical placements, Brooke has had experience working with neurological conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Cerebral Palsy, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), hypermobility, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Down Syndrome as well as a variety of mental health conditions. Through her honours research project, Brooke discovered the important role that social support plays in a rehabilitation setting. Therefore, Brooke strives to create a supportive environment where children feel safe and look forward to attending each session. Through Exercise Physiology treatment, Brooke can provide assessments, and exercise-based treatment to help individuals improve their functional movements (such as walking, running, jumping, sitting, standing, getting up off the floor, and navigating stairs) as well as work to improve children’s strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance, among others.

Carter Blair

Physiotherapist

Carter is All About Kids’ first Physiotherapist and is enthusiastic about helping children and young people move better. He offers a high energy and fun therapy environment that makes therapy somewhere kids want to be, rather than have to be. Carter is also able to offer an innovative and unique therapy setting through the use of the Albany Creek Gymnastics Club for therapy sessions. This fun and exciting environment offers a huge range of therapy activities that just cannot be achieved in a typical therapy room. Carter has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland which he attained in 2020. Prior to graduating, Carter worked with children for over 10 years as a gymnastics coach in both recreational and competitive programs, and continues to compete at a national level himself. Carter has also worked closely with children with ASD as a support worker. This background has shown him the importance of sport, movement, and participation for youth, which drives his practice and philosophy. This has given him the skills to form strong connections with children and families, so that they can get the most out of their therapy. Carter has experience working in a range of population groups, including people with physical disability (such as Cerebral Palsey, Spina Bifida, Arthrogryposis), Genetic conditions (such as Angelman Syndrome and Down Syndrome) and Developmental Conditions (Such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention disorders, Developmental Coordination Disorder and Global Development Delay). Carter has a passion for Neuro-Sensory-Motor Development (the relationship of the brain and senses to movement), which forms a pillar of his practice. Carter has also had experience in research, working for the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute as a research assistant in an ongoing study. He strongly aligns with evidence-based practice and aims to utilise the most up-to-date assessments and treatments to help children achieve their best. Carter provides assessment, recommendation, and treatment for issues such as: * Coordination and motor difficulties (Poor planning of movements or ability to learn new movements, poor balance/frequent tripping/falling, toe walking and other gait abnormalities, poor postural endurance (can’t sit still), developmental motor skills and sensory dysfunction.) * Joint and muscle conditions (Low tone /floppiness, High tone/stiffness, hyper mobility, joint hyper mobility syndrome, joint dislocation, scoliosis -abnormal spinal curve) * Sport and Sport skills (Poor muscle strength, Poor ball/sport skills, Sports injuries, load management in sport and growth related pains such as Osgood Schlatter’s disease) * Carter is also able to offer recommendation and assessments for Assistive Technology such as wheelchairs, Standing frames, strollers/pushchairs, activity chairs and more. Carter is able to provide the following assessments and relevant reports: * NSMDA (0-6 yrs) or a Physiotherapy Neuro-sensory-motor Assessment (7+ yrs) * Movement ABC 2 * HINE (Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination) and AIMS (Alberta Infant Motor Scale) * Kids BESTest (Paediatric balance assessment) * TGMD 2/3 * Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM)

Jasmyn Newcombe(She/her)

Exercise Physiologist

Jasmyn is a passionate gymnastics coach and exercise physiologist who advocates for inclusivity in fitness. She believes physical activity and sport can be enjoyable and accessible, whether you aim to enhance performance, improve health and fitness, support functioning, or promote recovery and general well-being. Over her 10 years as a gymnastics coach, Jasmyn has developed a strong passion for designing programs that focus on neurodiversity and various neurological disabilities, such as autism, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and others. She specializes in creating adaptive exercise programs that promote health and fitness with a holistic approach, tailored to address each person's unique needs and goals. With a degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology, Jasmyn combines her clinical knowledge with practical experience to design individualized programs for both individuals and groups. Her dedication ensures that exercise and sports are enjoyable and accessible to all, fostering a culture of support and inclusivity in fitness.

Mr Cameron O'Reilly

Occupational Therapist

Cameron is a driven and passionate Occupational Therapist who strives to provide meaningful and enjoyable intervention to provide children with the best possible opportunity for growth. Cameron’s passions originate from experiencing the world of professional medicine/allied health from a young age in his own family background and seeing first hand the importance of a client and family centred approach to therapy. Having graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Cameron spent the first 2 years working within a private paediatric clinic in the north shore of Sydney. Cameron has various experiences in the disability and play therapy sectors, school-based and both public/private paediatric therapy fields.

Nathan Levey

Exercise Physiologist

Nathan is an Exercise Physiologist who is passionate about using exercise to help people improve their everyday lives. Nathan comes from a strong gymnastics background, where he has worked with children for just under 10 years as a gymnastics coach in both recreational and competitive programs, and continues to compete at a national level himself. This provides him with a wide array of fun and innovative ways to provide individualized exercise treatment for children of all ages and ability levels. Throughout his gymnastics coaching career and university placements, Nathan has gained valuable experiences in coaching, instructing, and working with children and adults with a wide variety of conditions including neurological, cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, and metabolic conditions/disorders. Nathan offers individualized exercise treatment including both exercise prescription and exercise assessment, where each of these are tailored to meet each kid’s personal needs.
