Tsun Fai Ip (Kelvin) is a general psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). He has extensive experience in childhood and adolescent mental health, such as emotional regulation, anxiety and anger management. Particularly, he is passionate about working with young individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing 1-on-1 psychological therapy. He is skilled in conducting diagnostic assessment for ASD (e.g., ADOS-2 and CARS-2), as well as cognitive and achievement assessment for developmental/learning-related difficulties (e.g., WISC-V and WIAT-III).
Kelvin is an advocate of play-based therapy, an approach that has shown positive outcomes with regards to social communication development. In sessions, he often uses LEGO (a commonly adored tool) to create learning opportunities for his clients. Through joint activities and structured play, young individuals will be able to develop their social skills (e.g., turn-taking, sharing, and collaborative problem-solving). This also supports their self-esteem and help them feel calm and relaxed in the clinician’s room, as they are doing something that they are good at or enjoy.
Impressively, Kelvin is a trilingual speaker, who is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
