Caspar is a Registered Psychologist, with a special interest in OCD. Caspar launched The OCS Clinic upon recognition of the unique treatment requirements of different forms of OCD, having previously been involved in research exploring the treatment of mental compulsions. Caspar has a gentle, person-centred approach to working with clients, with diverse experience helping adults undergoing a wide range of issues, having worked within crisis support and suicide prevention; supporting individuals to overcome mental health barriers at work; and working within family trauma focussed care. Caspar welcomes all individuals to express interest in finding support, with experience in the treatment and care of depressive and anxiety disorders; OCD; depersonalisation/derealisation and dissociation; ADHD; managing chronic pain and somatic concerns including medically unexplained symptoms; complex grief; personality vulnerabilities and disorders; and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in both its acute and complex forms. Caspar strongly believes in the importance of ongoing, lifelong learning as a Psychologist, and continues to engage in extensive professional development, seeking consult with numerous Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Social Workers to maintain best practice and develop his therapeutic skillset further, while also providing peer supervision to psychologists and other mental health professionals who would like to learn more about OCD. Caspar enjoys working from various psychotherapy frameworks, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT; including Exposure and Response Prevention [ERP]), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), as well as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
