Thanks. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * CHIROPRACTIC: I have worked as a Registered Chiropractor for almost 19 years, 14 of them in my previous country practice in Yass (NSW), where I worked from a Gonstead base, also incorporating SOT, Activator & Diversified. I have always sought to adjust the PRIMARY causes in a body, not merely anything that is 'out' of alignment. This way, bodies tend to feel better sooner! HOWEVER, as of 1st December 2024, I will no longer be a Registered Chiropractor through Ahpra. I will instead be a CHIROPRACTIC CONSULTANT. Not being Registered means I will not be able to call myself a 'Chiropractor' (it's a protected title) and and I will no longer have a Medicare Provider number. The main differences for you, as a patient, are the following points. By law, NOT being a Registered Chiropractor, - I cannot refer you for X-rays, taken privately or publicly (but I can send you to someone else who IS allowed to take X-rays, with a letter of recommendation) - I cannot see you under EPC/CDM plans via your GP - You cannot claim your Health Fund for Chiropractic with me - I am not required to hold $10 million professional indemnity insurance - I cannot do neck 'manipulations' that take your neck joints beyond your 'usual physiological range of motion' (but given I do specific 'adjustments' which are mostly from a neutral position anyway, and never take joints beyond their usual physiological range of motion, I don't see that this is particularly relevant; I just thought I'd mention it from a legal perspective) Everything else is pretty well the same! You will get exceptional care, I will do my best to help you, I will explain everything as best as I can, you will get good adjustments, I will be professional in my care of you, but also, because I will not be limited by Ahpra and the Chiropractic Board acting unreasonably, I will be able to discuss ALL areas of health with you. And I will always refer you on where warranted. I have done much continuing education, incorporating paediatrics, pregnancy and peripherals, to name but a few, in my time, so assessing and treating infants/children, pregnant ladies and all those non-spinal joints in the body (like knees, shoulders, jaw, wrists etc) are not a problem for me. I specialise in Chiropractic Consultancy - via telehealth - all over Australia. This is a service specifically for Complex Cases, where you may have no idea what you really need in any area of your Health, or your children's Health. I go through your health history with a fine tooth comb and I also look at imaging, blood tests etc, if available, and explain things in plain English. I discuss things like: - diet - posture/body positioning - stress - allergies - exercise - basic psychology/headspace issues - imaging & other tests - how joints work/their function - headaches/migraines - sleep patterns and positions + pillow fittings - menstrual cycles - pregnancy - inflammation - neurology/nerves - vaccinations - rehabilitation and much, much more. If it's relevant to YOUR health, then we'll talk about it! And I'll always keep it simple and talk in ways that YOU understand. I'm very adaptable with people. Sometimes parents wish to talk about their children's health problems instead of their own, and that is fine by me. We can have a telehealth session about your child/children, because getting the health of children on track - as soon as possible - is a remarkably good idea! Being a 'puzzle person', I'm good at pinpointing health problems. Better yet, I can give you a range of practical advice to help you on your path to recovery. No matter what the problem, I have found there are always options available. No case has been too strange for me, I always refer where necessary and if I think a trial of Chiropractic care with me personally is what you need, I will let you know. I like to help people find workable solutions to their health problems. After all, we live in our bodies 24/7, so we might as well work WITH them, not against them! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ANIMAL CHIROPRACTIC: I also assess and adjust people's pets on request: - dogs - cats - guinea pigs - chickens - goats - alpacas etc I am NOT a Veterinarian nor am I a qualified Animal Chiropractor thus I cannot diagnose in all cases where it comes to animal health. However, I have had many cases where I have been able to help someone's pet or livestock, or provide more comfort for them whilst they age/pass, by finding subluxations and adjusting them ie reducing nerve interference. I cannot offer much more than basic adjustments and a few tidbits of advice when it comes to animals - but sometimes this is enough to help a lot! I have also been able to use my Differential Diagnosis skills (having DD under your belt is why we have the honorary title of 'doctor'!) to figure out not just tricky human cases, but tricky pet/livestock cases. For decades now I have owned livestock and/or pets (goats, alpacas, chickens, cats & guinea pigs), worked in rural areas and lived in rural areas , so I am fairly well-versed in a range of pets & livestock. I have also adjusted horses with good results. I tend to mostly use the Activator adjusting instrument for my work with animals, but sometimes I do manual adjustments. Usually, by removing the nerve interference, bodies tend to get well. The same principle applies to all animals! So long as I understand the anatomy I am working with, I can usually help to at least some degree. Fees for animal chiropractic are negotiable.
