I have Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and hold a professional membership with the Australian Counselling Psychology Association. I'm also registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
I have experience in private practice, university settings, employee assistance programs and youth organisations. I use a range of evidenced-based interventions to assess, diagnose and treat various psychological disorders. I also work with individuals and couples who are struggling to enjoy their day-to-day lives.
I have a collaborative and empathetic approach to therapy, understanding how important it is to feel safe and comfortable when talking about difficult life problems. I'm particularly passionate about helping my clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, physical responses and relationship patterns influence their current way of living. My central philosophy is that in order to make positive changes, we first need to understand how we learned to have a particular problem. We all have within us, the resources to improve our quality of life.
I am currently pursuing my accreditation in Schema Therapy which forms the basis of most of my clinical work. I am also certified to deliver eTherapy/telehealth and am skilled in other therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy.
