My name is Kristy, and I am owner / practitioner at Small Steps Counselling.
At Small Steps Counselling, I help people understand, process, and change how their experiences live within them—mentally, emotionally, and physically—so they're not just exploring and talking about their struggles, but actively shifting them.
Difficult emotions, old patterns, and past experiences don’t just stay in our mind—they shape how we feel, react, and move through the world. My approach blends evidence-based methods to help people untangle what’s weighing them down, so they can think, feel and respond in ways that actually feel right for them.
Through this work, thoughts and emotions won’t just be something they “manage”— they'll notice real shifts. They'll go from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to more in control, from questioning them self to trusting their instincts, and from ‘just getting through the day’ to actually feeling present in their life.
The work we'll do together isn’t just about shifting their emotions and thoughts about their struggles—it’s about transforming their lived experience of them.
COUNSELLING - I have experience working with adult clients struggling with concerns such as; stress, anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, depression, loss or trauma. When working with clients experiencing these concerns, I work from an integrative therapeutic basis as well as incorporating psychoeducation (information) and somatic (body related) elements, as appropriate, to assist the client with feeling more at ease in their mind and as well as in their body.
Sessions at Small Steps Counselling are for adult clients, 1:1, via telehealth (unless otherwise pre-arranged).
