Dr Daniel Shaw

Psychologist

Daniel is a nationally registered psychologist with experience in providing psychological counselling and group psycho-education to adults and adolescents. His experience has spanned across multiple settings: public mental health, outreach support, employment assistance programs, critical incident support, education and career counselling, relationship counselling, anger management focused behavioural change, and crisis counselling. He has undergone training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to extend his clinical expertise and has incorporated ACT into many of his professional endeavours. He works collaboratively with clients and aims to help clients to overcome their challenges and achieve personal understanding, growth and value. Daniel believes that counselling needs to consider each client's life context and does not define clients by their diagnosis. Depending on the needs of each client, he will use a therapeutic approach that is evidenced to assist with their issue and matches with their values.
