I have lived and worked on the Brisbane Bayside for twenty years and call the Redlands my home. For over 7 years I have worked in private practice with adults and youth aged 12+ seeking to bring back joy and navigate challenges in life. I work on developing compassionate therapeutic relationships with families to provide support during challenging times including parenting and family relationships, grief and loss, change, redundancy, separation, and divorce, bullying, anxiety, and depression. I assist clients to better manage ADHD, ASD, as well as youth, individuals, and families of the LGBTIQ+ community. I bring a solid 25 years of experience in the communications sector, with rich skills gathered across large multinationals and small not-for-profits in Australia, Africa, and Europe. I understand the struggles of balancing family, work, and life commitments having experienced both healthy workplaces and toxic environments. I use assertive communication techniques and strategies to foster stronger workplace and family relationships. I love to support families by focusing on the creation of goals and strategies which are practical and achievable. I am trained in Holistic Counselling using the gentle enquiry of Byron Katie, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or tapping) and utilise grounding mind/body practices to calm the nervous system. I have a Master of Counselling which provides me with theoretical knowledge and tools to alleviate stress using evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. In addition to providing therapeutic support to individuals, youth, couples and families, I offer the deep relaxation of Reiki healing. This therapy is beneficial for stress, chronic pain, burnout, depression and anxiety. I am a certified infant massage instructor, kids’ yoga teacher and Reiki master. I have two teenagers and a neurotic Cavoodle puppy.
