Lynette graduated from UNSW in 2003 with a Bachelor of Psychology with first class Honours. She also holds a PhD in Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology with Honours. She has worked as a psychologist in a range of settings, including the Anxiety Treatment and Research Unit (Westmead Hospital), the Child Behaviour Research Clinic (Randwick), and the Traumatic Stress Clinic (Randwick and Westmead). She has worked in private practice in Crows Nest and Five Dock in recent years and has been the Director of MindWell Psychology and Counselling since 2013.
Lynette is passionate about all areas of mental health from prevention to intervention. She has particular expertise and experience in anxiety and mood disorders, post traumatic stress reactions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, stress and anger management, and child and adolescent behavioural difficulties. She also has a special interest in autism spectrum disorders. She draws on evidence-based practice in her work, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness and acceptance therapy. She believes in a collaborative approach to treatment and prides herself on her attentive care and sensitivity to the needs of her clients.
Born and raised in Sydney, Lynette is very keen about working in North Ryde and is eager to provide a high standard of psychology service to the local community and surrounds. She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes three young spirited (and opinionated!) children. She loves to travel and hopes to one day be able to climb Mt Everest.
