I have completed undergraduate degrees in behavioural science and criminology, followed by an honours degree in psychology. I have recently completed a research masters degree in psychology and am registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
I have spent the last fourteen years providing support, assessment and specialist services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism. I have previously worked as a crisis counsellor. I have completed training in intensive crisis counselling skills; play therapy; sensory integration; peer/colleague support and debriefing; positive behaviour support for challenging behaviours; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Narrative Therapy and specialist workshops on dementia and autism. I have been a STAP registered supervisor since 2008 and currently supervise several probationary psychologists. I have commenced EMDR accreditation training.
I have a strong person-centred approach and understand that a positive and trusting therapist-client relationship is fundamental to achieving positive therapeutic outcomes. I utilise a range of evidence-based therapies to assist clients to overcome difficulties and improve their well-being.
