Life in Balance is led by Imelda Westworth, who brings 14 years of experience to the psychology field with a specialisation in trauma. Imelda started Life in Balance in 2011 as a sole practice to serve the Eastern Region of Melbourne, with a base in Ringwood.
Imelda is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) with fourteen years experience in both government departments and private practice. Imelda works with families and individuals to address a range of issues including: depression, anxiety disorders, addictions, grief and loss, trauma, anger management, self-esteem, addictions, family issues, parenting skills and work/life stressors and relationship issues. Imelda has spent a number of years working with children with disabilities and with their families.
Imelda also offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) - a form of therapy that involves an experiential approach to psychology and supports clients of all ages. It encompasses a range of treatments in the presence of horses. The focus of equine psychotherapy is to support therapeutic change and personal growth/development for individual clients. The horses act as a resource to support therapeutic change.
