Emily is a registered psychologist who enjoys working with adolescents and adults. She possesses a warm and non-judgemental approach to therapy and aims to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Emily takes an integrative approach to therapy that is informed by attachment theory, interpersonal psychotherapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Emily’s therapeutic approach aims to enhance clients’ understandings of themselves and increase their insight into their feelings, thoughts, and behavioural patterns. Emily hopes to help clients learn to change ingrained patterns, resolve their symptoms, and understand themselves more deeply. While Emily’s approach is insight-oriented and reflective, she also complements this work with skills-based interventions in accordance with clients’ needs.
Emily is available to treat a range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, trauma, and problems with developing and maintaining meaningful relationships.
Emily is available for appointments at True North Psychology on Thursdays and Fridays.
