Overview

Welcomes referrals for adult patients. Coleen qualified as a clinical psychologist after completing her Master’s degree at the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa in 1998. Coleen has practiced within the public and private healthcare sectors for a number of years in South Africa, Ireland and Australia. Areas of interest include: Psychological medicine providing specialist consultations and interventions in Oncology, Respiratory Medicine (Cystic Fibrosis and COPD) and Infertility with a focus on supporting patients in managing the psychological impact of life limiting and chronic health conditions. Coleen’s experience in Australia includes psychological intervention as part of a specialist eating disorders team, consultation liaison psychology at the Children’s Hospital (co-morbid physical and mental health presentations, procedural anxiety, medication adherence) and trauma informed care for patients who present with a history of childhood sexual abuse/and or sexual assault. She was until July of this year based at the Breast Centre at Charles Gairdner Hospital 2 days a week where she offered psychological support to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or who attends the high risk clinic and considering risk reduction surgery. This is now a focus in her practice in Shenton Park. Other areas of interest in her private practice include anxiety and mood disorders, attachment and affect regulation disorders, life transition and adjustment difficulties,
