Social Worker | Narrative Therapist Founder, Journey to Healing Pathways Chrissy McKenzie is a proud Adnyamathanha, Dieri, and Kuyani woman from Port Augusta, South Australia. Grounded in her cultural heritage, Chrissy is dedicated to strengthening the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. A qualified social worker with additional qualifications in Narrative Therapy and Community Work, Chrissy is currently completing her Master’s degree at the University of Melbourne. Her career spans healthcare, emergency services, child welfare, and mental health, with a strong focus on trauma-informed, culturally safe practice. Chrissy was part of the landmark 13 YARN initiative, Australia’s first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led crisis support line, providing vital support to community members in need. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals and communities, creating spaces for healing, growth, and connection. Her work is grounded in the belief that true wellbeing comes from connection — to culture, community, and Country — and that sustainable change is led by First Nations voices.
