Arni is a Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Arni works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, anxiety (panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias), depression, posttraumatic stress, grief/loss, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and other emotional and behavioural difficulties. Arni has specialist training in working with trauma, high-risk adolescents (i.e. self-harm), and providing parenting/family support (i.e. child behavioural intervention).
Arni is a client-centred, compassionate and collaborative therapist. She uses integrative, evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness-based therapies, Positive Psychology and Attachment-based interventions.
Arni has worked extensively in a variety of public, private and non-for-profit organizations including the DBT clinic, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Family Services, Adult Psychiatric Services, Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Residential Care for children in out-of-home care. Currently, Arni divides her time as a private practitioner at Newport Health and Wellbeing, Headspace Werribee, Foundation House, and as a Therapeutic Specialist for Berry Street Take Two - a statewide clinical service for abused and neglected children in the Child Protection system.
