Overview

Jennifer offers individual and couples counselling in Joondalup and online counselling for individuals. She is a warm, empathetic, and encouraging person-centred therapist who provides a safe space for clients to share their concerns. Jennifer believes the therapeutic relationship with her clients is the most important factor for successful therapy outcomes and strives to help her clients feel comfortable, accepted, and respected. As a Master of Counselling qualified, ACA Registered integrative therapist Jennifer incorporates a variety of evidence-based approaches to tailor therapy to the individual client and their unique needs, values, and preferences. Therapeutic approaches may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. When working with couples, Jennifer utilises Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. She helps her clients to identify and understand their specific attachment styles and how these styles impact the cycles of interaction in their relationship. With a background as a teacher, school chaplain, mother of five, and over 30 years of marriage, Jennifer has extensive experience with common issues individuals, families, and couples encounter. Jennifer has also worked with adult international students as a counsellor in a college setting and practices from a culturally sensitive and trauma informed framework. Jennifer helps clients understand underlying issues that are contributing to their current concerns, whilst also helping them develop practical skills and strategies to work through challenges and move towards healing and recovery. She works from a positive, strengths-based approach and empowers clients to set goals, take action, and make changes to improve their lives. Jennifer believes her clients have the inner capacity to create rich and meaningful lives and provides her clients with tools to flourish and thrive.
