Thomas is our Youth Mental Health Counsellor at Bloke Therapy.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Counselling. As part of his practicum Thomas worked with males between 18 and 30 years old who suffered from various mental health issues ranging from drug and alcohol dependence, anxiety and depression, relationship issues and chronic unemployment.
Thomas has also worked for the past seven years as a Senior Mental Health Case Worker supporting clients with psychological injuries across workers' compensation and life insurance schemes.
Thomas has worked as a Youth Case Worker with at-risk young people, between 12 to 18 years old. Thomas’ worked hard to ensure the young people did not re-offend, by supporting them to stay in school or find paid employment.
Thomas is currently completing a Master of Counselling at the University of Notre Dame.
Thomas’ counselling approach is eclectic consisting of a Humanistic, Cognitive and Behavioural as well as Acceptance and Commitment therapies, depending on the client and the issue being addressed.
In his spare time Thomas has found a passion for weight training as well as leading a casual social support group for males in their 20s to 30s.
Thomas is passionate about working with young men, walking alongside them to support them in achieving their goals, regaining control of their life and seizing the day!
