Michael is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience as a psychologist. Michael has worked in a variety of areas in both Western Australia and Victoria, including government mental health services, mental health rehabilitation services, employee assistance programs, and private practice. Michael graduated with First Class Honours and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Curtin University. He has an interest in clinical perfectionism and is a published author in this area. Michael's approach focuses both on the presenting problem (the here and now) as well as the underlying causes. As such, Michael works together with his clients to help them improve their current symptoms but also to prevent or minimise future difficulties. His therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. Michael has interest areas in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety, Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and self-harming behaviours. Michael also works with children and families in regards to behavioural problems and parenting strategies. He also has an interest in how anxiety and perfectionism in children affect their behaviours. Michael sees children (ages 4 and up) through to adults. He is available for appointments from Monday to Friday.
