Overview

Michael Coetzer is a New Zealand-trained physiotherapist who studied at Auckland University of Technology. Originally born in South Africa, Michael moved to New Zealand at a young age and relocated to Brisbane in 2023. He has dedicated his career to the musculoskeletal (MSK) setting, specializing in acute sporting injuries and post-surgical care, including joint replacements, shoulder reconstructions, and ACL reconstructions. Michael also focuses on accelerated rehabilitation for individuals returning to work after significant injuries and has extensive experience managing premier club rugby union teams for four years. Michael firmly believes that strength is the key to living a pain-free and fulfilling life. He helps his patients achieve this through personalized rehab programs tailored to their specific needs. Additionally, he employs a variety of manual therapy techniques, including massage, joint mobilizations, and dry needling. Michael has furthered his expertise with additional training in Injury Prevention and Performance Enhancement through SEPNZ, as well as in dry needling and manual therapy. Outside of work, Michael enjoys training at the gym, taking strolls along the beach, and reading books.
