Overview

Rhiannon a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She has completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Majoring in Psychology and Exercise Science), Graduate Diploma of Psychology and a Master of Professional Psychology. Her training and experience have predominately focused on working with young people (late teens to early adulthood) as well as adults. She enjoys working with people of all ages across the lifespan and has worked in the educational and private sectors. Rhiannon’s studies also included a background in Exercise Science where she has a strong interest in Performance Psychology in the sporting, occupational, or academic fields. Rhiannon has a focus on developing a strong therapeutic and human relationship to work collaboratively in treatment providing psychological care. She is a compassionate, warm, and energetic psychologist who fosters a gentle and safe supportive space for clients. Throughout her professional practice she nurtures the therapeutic space, which allows for self-growth, self-awareness, compassion, and empowerment in the clients that she sees. She has a belief that this creates a more meaningful and positive therapeutic experience achieving healthier treatment outcomes. Rhiannon works from an integrative therapeutic framework, where she draws from a mix of evidenced-based therapies and modalities. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Enhanced (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness Skills, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Her approach and belief in therapy is that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to connecting and working with human beings. She feels that it’s important to see a person as a whole and to tailor care to individual needs. She is open to seeing any individual who feels that it would be the best fit for the therapeutic alliance, which she prioritises.
