Miss Alexandra Bowring Psychologist

Alexandra Bowring has over fifteen years experience working in the field of wellbeing and mental health. With a background in Social Work, Alexandra initially gained experience as a therapist working with couples and families. In 2002 she was employed as a relationship counsellor with Relationships Australia and achieved accreditation via the Organisation’s supervisory program in 2003. These early years shaped her passion for helping individuals and couples improve their interpersonal relationships both personally and professionally. Driven to expand her knowledge in human behaviour, motives and drives, Alexandra became a registered psychologist in 2007, and in 2019 completed a Master of Social Science (Couple Counselling) at Swinburne University of Technology. Alexandra has been in private practice since 2009. Alexandra believes the therapeutic relationship is an essential element in supporting and encouraging change and fosters a dynamic and collaborative approach. Alexandra holds a Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis and enjoys incorporating hypnotic techniques to enhance her client’s treatment goals. Having recently trained in Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Alexandra has been pleased to see how these interventions are producing positive outcomes for reducing her client’s trauma related symptoms.
