Melina is the director and founder at MelinaJBW Counselling Coaching Consulting. As a registered counsellor and neurotherapist based in the Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba, she is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve greater mental health and wellbeing. With over a decade of experience in the field of counselling and a post graduate degree in Applied Neuroscience I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. My counselling approach is client-centered and strength-based, I work collaboratively with clients to understand their unique experiences and develop strategies that are tailored to their specific needs. I firmly believe that every individual has the capacity for personal growth, and that counselling can be a powerful tool for fostering positive change. My areas of specialisation include depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced narcissistic abuse and religious or church abuse. In addition, I provide support and guidance to youth, couples, and parents navigating the challenges of adolescence, relationships, and parenting. As a counsellor, I am dedicated to providing a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of stigma or shame. I understand that seeking counselling can be a difficult decision, and I strive to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible. My counselling sessions are tailored to the unique needs of each client, and I utilise a range of evidence-based techniques, neurotherapy, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I believe that a holistic approach to mental health is essential, and I encourage clients to explore the mind-body connection through practices such as neuro-cycles, somatic exercises and techniques that help to calm and re-connect the nervous system. My goal as a counsellor is to empower individuals to take control of their mental health and wellbeing and achieve greater fulfilment and happiness in their lives. Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or seeking greater self-awareness and personal growth, I am here to support you on your journey. If you are interested in learning more about my counselling services or would like to schedule an appointment, please feel free to contact me.
