Karis Gholab is a Clinical Psychologist and has over 15 years’ experience in both the public and private sector providing psychological assessment and therapy across the lifespan. Her specialist areas of treatment are though in issues effecting adolescents and adults. She has expertise in providing assessment and treatment across a range of mental health concerns as well as extensive experience working in perinatal and infant mental health, adult mental health, adolescent and youth mental health, trauma and substance abuse. In addition to working here at Life Changing Psychology, Karis works in Public Mental Health at Gosford as a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Specialist.
Karis draws on a range of therapeutic interventions to tailor intervention to individual needs including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) Parent-infant Psychotherapy (e.g., Circle of Security), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Therapy.
