Dr. Kylie Brownfield is a Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and their families. She has over 15 years experience in treating individuals with mental illness and psychological distress, having worked as a psychologist across both research and clinical sectors. Kylie is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and holds clinically-endorsed registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Kylie is a registered Medicare provider and is also recognised by a range of private health funds. She works from a science-practitioner model, meaning she only utilises treatment that has been subject to rigorous research evaluation. Her training and skills include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) including Mindfulness-based techniques, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (ITP) and Kylie's practice is further informed by psychodynamic approaches. Treatment is tailored to the individual, based on each client's presenting problem and their readiness and capacity for change. Kylie offers non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, family-inclusive therapy and adheres to stringent ethical guidelines to ensure safe practice.
