Overview

Kayla is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health. Kayla comes from a background of working with people of all ages who have been exposed to the criminal and/or youth justice system. Kayla is passionate about supporting people, and their families, through behaviours of concern, addiction, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, complex trauma, and aggression. Kayla has experience supporting parents that feel overwhelmed with their child’s mental health and/or behaviour. Kayla works from a strengths-based, systems focused, and trauma informed approach and uses a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Family Based Therapy and Schema Therapy, to suit each client.

  • Master of Social Work, University of Tasmania, 2020
  • Bachelor of Arts / Criminology: Psychology, University of Tasmania, 2012
