Julie received her four-year post-graduate qualification in Psychology from Charles Sturt University and is now working toward completion of the internship to full registration as a Psychologist. Julie’s motivated by the desire to work with children, teens, adults and families who feel trapped in patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings which prevent them from living their most meaningful life.
Julie has worked in a range of settings including corrective services, community mental health rehabilitation, community development and health promotion, education, church leadership and as an Associate Lecturer at The University of Sydney.
Julie believes in working alongside clients to help them develop a life full of richness and achieve meaningful life goals. Julie has completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Schema Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and uses a range of strategies targeted to the needs of the individual or family life circumstances. Julie has also completed EMDR (Level 1) training and EMDR Training for Children and Adolescents (Level 2 - Advanced). Julie works 3 days a week from 9 to 4.30pm.
