Overview

Julia has over 10 years of experience in the mental health sector including community, clinical and juvenile forensic settings. ​ Julia enjoys working with a range of psychological issues that young people and adults may be experiencing. These may include: trauma, gender dysphoria, personality disorders, self-harm, voices, psychotic illnesses, relationship difficulties, loss and grief, anxiety and depression. ​ Julia's therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative and utilises evidence-based techniques tailored to the individuals needs. These techniques may include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Julia particularly enjoys working with the individual to find ways to empower them to achieve their recovery goals. At times, this can mean working collaboratively with family, teachers and other health professionals. ​ Julia is a Clinical Psychologist registered by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Julia is an an Associate Member of EMDRAA- EMDR Association of Australia. ​ Fees: 60 minute consultation sessions= $220 ​ Julia is registered with Medicare. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan you are able to claim a rebate of $137.05 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. ​ Julia is registered with private health providers in Australia. If you have private health insurance you may be eligible to claim rebates for your psychological sessions. The level of cover and any applicable waiting periods vary between providers. ​ Referrals are accepted from Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT).
