Having spent 15 years working with start up not-for-profits and then caring for four beautiful children, I went on to complete my Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling. While studying I discovered the transformational trauma therapy work of Peter Levine and his Somatic Experiencing method, which has had a dramatic and positive impact on my own life, my family's and my clients. I have completed my three year Somatic Experiencing training, which I commenced in Israel under the wise guidance of Gina Ross and continued with Ariel Giarretto and Berns Galloway in Melbourne, Australia. I am a qualified SEP (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner). I am also a Brainspotting Practitioner, having trained with Dr Roby Abeles and Salene D'Souza.I am now in private practice in Darling Point in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. I work primarily with developmental trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions and relationships issues, specialising in the mid life crisis. I have the most wonderful clients and am truly grateful for the privilege of working alongside them to see them move to a more peaceful, regulated and joy-filled state. The simple act of explaining what trauma does to the nervous system is transformational in itself and helps clients to realise that there is not something seriously wrong with them. The ability to heal is accessible to all. Somatic Experiencing works to help clients to release the internal activation and charge around past events, allowing them to better process these events cognitively from a wiser and more grounded perspective.
