Therapy with Emily
In my practice, I focus on building connection with my clients to establish safety and trust to determine how I can best support you. I take a collaborative approach to ensure that you feel heard and respected throughout the therapeutic process. I strive to ensure each client feels safe within the space and comfortable to share their goals for what they are wanting to focus on.
I use an evidence-based approach utilising the modality of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This supports clients to explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions and behaviours and building their knowledge and application of appropriate skills to manage challenges they are experiencing.
I am creative and playful in my approach with younger children to engage in the intervention to foster meaningful change. I collaborate with the parents and carers of children to best support their presenting needs. I also ensure communication across relevant stakeholders is clear and consistent to ensure the clients are receiving support from all areas required to help them succeed and thrive. When working with young people and adolescents, I respect their voice and autonomy, whilst also working with their parents to maintain their safety. I always work alongside my clients to help them develop their skills to improve any challenges they may be experiencing.
