Dr Muscat is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor with a rural background and with expertise in emotional disorders in adolescents and adults.
Dr Muscat has 20 years experience working in several settings including public hospital, private practices, headspace, and other non-government organisations. Dr Muscat has worked with individual and group clients across the lifespan mostly young people 12 years of age and adults. Dr Muscat has expertise in in working with people with depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustments, work-related stress, self-harm and more.
Dr Muscat works from a compassionate, non-judgmental, and person-centered stance as well as a professional, ethical and evidence-based practice to help her clients make meaningful changes and improve their quality of life. She is passionate about, and dedicated to, creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship and therapy environment. Dr Muscat believes in working collaboratively with her clients to build upon their strengths and develop strategies to help support recovery and healing journey.
Dr Muscat works from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy treatment modalities.
Dr Muscat is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
