Dr Pek Ang Consultant Psychiatrist B Med, FRANZCP Qualifications Dr Ang is a Malaysian born Psychiatrist who grew up in Newcastle when he moved there at 11. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Newcastle and furthered his experience with a Sub-Internship placement with the University of Washington, Seattle USA. He decided on Psychiatry as a speciality after he experienced a placement in which he found the work interesting and rewarding. He is a keen diagnostician and interested in people’s life stories. A Consultant Psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Dr Ang apart from his Clinical work also enjoys teaching and training GPs, Medical Students and Mental Health Practitioners. He has a Conjoint position with the University of Newcastle. Dr Ang has recently embraced technology to allow him to provide Telehealth services to a broader community who he may be able to help. In commencing with Mind Oasis as an Adult Psychiatrist, Dr Ang will begin with providing Assessment and Treatment to suitable individuals with ADHD, Binge Eating and Weight Management needs via Telehealth.
