Jolyon Grimwade, PhD, has over thirty years’ experience as a practitioner and academic in clinical psychology with children and families. He has worked in private, public, and not-for-profit services. He has worked extensively with adults of all ages, especially those who have substance use problems. Another interest is working with families with a member who has ADHD or ASD or other chronic health problem, whether child or adult. More recently, Jo’s wide practice has led to an interest in working with people with issues with eating (including obesity, body image, over-exercising, and severe weight loss) and working with parents who have children with such problems. A similar practice journey has meant a significant referral base of transgender young people. Jo has been an accredited Clinical Member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy for thirty years. He is an AHPRA accredited supervisor of Clinical Psychologists. Jo brings to the work much experience but in a playful and family-centred way. He aims for his clients to have better understanding of themselves as a means to living more fulfilling and harmonious lives. Being able to speak about all things involving life, relationships, death, intimacy, and trauma is where health lies. Our bodies are part of this speaking.
