Joel obtained his Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics after completing a Bachelor of Science in Medical Biotechnology. In 2021 he completed his PhD which explored vegetarian-based diets and their relationships with immune function and the inflammatory response.
Joel has worked as a clinical dietitian in a range of hospitals across the Illawarra region of New South Wales and has been a private practice dietitian since 2018. He also holds a Certificate IV in Fitness and a Bachelor of Education.
Joel is the Lead Dietitian for New South Wales on the Doctors For Nutrition Advisory Council and currently works full time as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Wollongong (Nutrition and dietetics and Exercise Science)
