Dr Jean (known as Jeannie) Higgins is a clinical psychologist, a community and organisational consultant and a yoga and meditation teacher with 40 years of clinical, research, community and policy experience in areas such as acute psychiatry, community health, developmental disabilities, university teaching, alternative and substitute care for abused and neglected adolescents, provision of shopfront and country outreach services for war veterans and their families, and primary, secondary and tertiary levels of intervention in the psychological well-being of survivors of complex trauma, emergency service personnel such as medical practitioners police, nurses, fire-fighters and ambulance officers. For the last 23 years, Dr Higgins has run a busy practice in Canberra, Australia. She works very closely with the multiple systems and people that can helpfully, or not so helpfully, impact on health, social and vocational outcomes. Dr Higgins provides professional treatment for complex psychological issues, training and mentoring to individuals, couples, groups and local, national and international organisations.
