Overview

I am registered psychologist with AHPRA and have approximately 10 years of experience, having worked in health, community, NGO, inpatient, private and research settings. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology (including a Masters in Clinical Psychology) and was the recipient of an Australian Postgraduate Award. My research at the Priority Research Centre for Brain and Mental Health and the Family Interaction and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Laboratory (University of Newcastle), focused on mother-infant relationships in the context of postnatal depression and has since seen me take on roles in which family relationships are the focus. My training in family therapy was completed in the United States. I provide supervision to early-career mental health clinicians seeking to improve their reflective practice and efficacy in delivering evidence-based intervention.  I provide an authentic and engaging style with effective and collaborative implementation of evidence-based treatment that supports my clients to achieve their goals and to heal. I am skilled at engaging and delivering intervention to young people experiencing difficulties with their mental health, peer group, families and developmental transitions. I enjoy working with adults who may be experiencing new mental health concerns or are noticing patterns of behaviour that they wish to shift. I have extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing complex, prolonged mental health concerns and those who have experienced trauma early in life. I utilise a range of evidence-based interventions, including CBT, DBT, sensorimotor psychotherapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy and motivational interviewing, in a collaborative manner with my client's presenting concern.
