Overview

Dr Cherie Chan is a clinical psychologist who has worked in both public and private mental healthcare sectors in Australia and Singapore. She is a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and is a registered psychologist and supervisor with the Singapore Register of Psychologist (SRP). Cherie works primarily with older adolescents and adults who struggle with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression and trauma. In her previous role at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), Cherie supported individuals with co-morbid chronic health conditions and has provided multiple workshops and trainings on the management of mental health to healthcare professionals and the wider community. In her work, Cherie uses a variety of approaches with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and trauma focused work. She is most passionate about working with individuals who experience difficulties with emotion regulation, relationship issues and trauma stemming from childhood. She strives to help clients understand their history and patterns of behaviour and build paths towards value-driven lives. Outside of clinical work, she has been active in contributing to the psychology scene both in Singapore and with international psychology associations.
