Cecile is a Clinical Psychologist. Having worked in the public and community mental health sectors, Cecile is highly experienced and skilled with people from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds. She enjoys working with mid-to-late adolescents and adults who experience a range of emotional and psychological concerns, such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and childhood/complex trauma, adjustment difficulties, life transitions, identity confusion, interpersonal conflict and relationship problems, self-harm and personality disorders.
Cecile wrote her doctoral dissertation on the impact of memory in self-harming behaviours. She therefore has a particular interest in supporting people who engage in self-harm. She understands that the behaviour often helps people deal with difficult and intense emotions, bodily sensations, intrusive thoughts and/or memories, or is used to cope with emptiness or emotional numbness.
Cecile is passionate about helping her clients better understand themselves in relation to challenging life circumstances and significant past events and experiences. She provides a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore uncomfortable thoughts and emotions, reinforce their inner strengths, and develop a strong sense of identity. Overall, Cecile helps her clients move toward living a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
