Brenda Hughes is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and is a Medicare provider. Brenda’s undergraduate and Masters level training focused on educational and developmental psychology and she is skilled in providing therapy and conducting assessment.
Brenda has experience working as a psychologist in schools and clinical settings where she has supported individuals with attachment and relationship difficulties, trauma, life transitions, divorce, self-esteem, attention difficulties, social skills, emotional regulation, behaviour difficulties, anxiety, and depression. She also has a particular interest in supporting parents using attachment-based and behavioural approaches. Brenda provides therapy in a warm, supportive environment, collaborating with her clients to tailor her therapeutic approach to the individual. She likes to engage youth in therapy by incorporating evidence-based Expressive Arts Therapy and multimedia into her sessions.
Brenda is also skilled in psychometric assessment, including cognitive, behavioural and learning assessments. She works closely with the family and school systems and other professionals to a gain a deeper understanding of her clients to support them in achieving their goals. Brenda provides comprehensive reports which consider the whole child, providing tailored recommendations.
