Ms Pamela Scott Gale

Counsellor

My trauma informed practice is based on Florence Nightingale’s words to do no further harm. I work alongside my clients on their journey of discovery, understanding and healing. My trauma work is derived from Bessel Van Der Kolk’s precept “The Body Keeps the Score” and understanding how trauma impacts the body and not just the physical but the emotional, psychological, and spiritual. Trauma therapy is not what is wrong with the client but understanding with empathy and compassion what has happened to the client and how they have learned to cope. Then enabling and encouraging the client to be curious and explore in the safety and a trusting environment alternative ways that the client may consider choices that they may embrace and accept as safer ways to manage their symptoms.
