Poh has over 15 years of experience in both public and private sectors, working with clients experiencing a range of developmental and mental health concerns. She spent the early years of her career working with autistic children and their families in family-centred early intervention, autism diagnostic assessment and specialist positive behaviour support. Poh firmly believes in the quote by Alexander Den Heijer, “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” Grounded in the systemic approach, Poh often works with family members to understand the needs of the individuals and explore factors influencing the behaviour. She feels strongly about the need to support autistic people and ADHD-ers using non-pathologising, neurodiversity-affirming approaches. Known for her empathic and down-to-earth character, Poh can easily connect with individuals of different ages. She is also fluent in both English and Mandarin. Poh blends principles of contextual behavioural science (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory in her practice in order to support young people and adults to develop awareness and deal with life challenges differently. Poh is passionate about supporting children (7 years and above), young people and adults to engage meaningfully and thrive in their lives. Her areas of interest include the following but are not limited to: - Adjustment difficulties to major life transitions - Anxiety and depression - Grief and loss - Parent-child relationships - Cultural identity
