Ashley Haysom

Occupational Therapist

Ashley is a qualified Occupational Therapist who graduated from James Cook University in Townsville. Ashley’s passion for working with children originated from working with children and in healthcare at a young age. She is driven and passionate about providing family centred care for children and their families as she believes it is important for children to choose activities that are meaningful to them. Ashley has had experience with groups and has evolved her skills through assistant therapy and is looking forward to pursuing specialisation areas in ASD, developmental delays and sensory processing differences.

Chase Carpenter

Speech Pathologist

In December 2016, Chase joined All About Kids. He has experience working with children diagnosed with ASD, Global Development Delay, Down Syndrome, and other genetic syndromes. He has also worked with children with apraxia of speech, hearing impairments, and children with feeding issues. Chase is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and is a member of Speech Pathology Australia. He has experience working with children and their families in clinical, home, and school environments. Chase believes in working closely with family and educational support staff to maximise the effectiveness of speech and language therapy. He enjoys his role in assisting children to achieve their optimal communication skills and becoming confident young members of society. Chase is able to provide intervention for articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language difficulties, and literacy concerns. Chase has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from the University of Queensland. In 2016 Chase completed Hanen It Takes Two To Talk and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Paediatric Feeding workshop.

Chelsea Hockenhull

Occupational Therapist

Chelsea is a friendly, dedicated and skilful Paediatric Occupational Therapist who has a passion for working with our children, young people and their families who are looking for support with their mental health and developmental needs. Chelsea moved to Brisbane in October 2021, relocating from Auckland NZ for new lifestyle and work challenges. Chelsea completed her Bachelors of Health Science, Occupational Therapy and her Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions at the Auckland University of Technology NZ. Chelsea comes with an OT background of working in a public acute Child and Adolescent Mental Health clinic in Auckland for a few years, and most recently another private Paediatric clinic in the South of Brisbane. Chelsea’s experience and passions support therapy needs including; play therapy, developmental delays, GDD, ID, ASD, ADHD, ODD, emotion dysregulation, toileting, picky eating, prep and school readiness, life transitions, anxiety, low mood and depression, self harm, risk assessment and management, DBT, CBT, developmental trauma, body image and disordered eating, OCD, BPD, mindfulness, sleep hygiene and management, and sensory modulation and integration. She has experience working in schools, homes, clinic and via Telehealth. Chelsea has creative flare to her work and is very hands on with her clients and their families to support them to grow, manage life’s bumps and challenges, and to strive towards their therapeutic goals. Chelsea is currently in the process of having her Better Access to Mental Health accreditation application processed.

Emma Wesche

Occupational Therapist

Emma is a creative, passionate and devoted therapist. She graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy with Honours. Emma discovered early on in her degree that she has a love for paediatrics and completed considerable research in this area focussing on sensory processing. She chose to focus her honours research project on paediatric Occupational Therapy, gaining a vast amount of knowledge including new and relevant findings. Emma was involved in creating a protocol for a pilot study at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Paediatric Outpatient Clinic. Emma has experience working in private paediatric clinics, schools, childcare centres and she has also volunteered with Inclusion Netball. Emma has experience working with children on fine and gross motor skills, toileting, play skills and emotional regulation. She worked with these children in a paediatric clinic setting while liaising with teachers and parents to maintain a family centred approach. Emma takes a holistic approach and aims to make all sessions client-centred to ensure they are engaging and motivating to help children achieve their goals. She uses her creativity and fun-loving attitude to build rapport and produce a positive and supportive environment for the children and families she works with. Emma takes a collaborative approach, involving the families, other allied health professionals and teachers in the therapy journey. She firmly believes that this helps to establish consistency of therapy strategies across all environments for the child.

Jessica Taylor(She/her)

Psychologist

Jessica is a general psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), and is a member of the Australia Psychological Society (APS), and Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi). She completed her psychology undergraduate degree and honours at the University of Queensland, and then started with All About Kids straight after graduating. Prior to this she was a support worker for 4 years and loved helping those with disabilities live rich and meaningful lives. Jessica has worked with people across the lifespan, and enjoys the diversity of the people she works with. She has experience using a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Jessica has worked with a wide range of presenting conditions such as: anxiety disorders (social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, and agoraphobia), depressive and mood disorders, trauma (post traumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder), personality disorders (borderline personality disorder), adjustment disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders (autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Jessica is an enthusiastic clinician who is passionate about helping her clients work towards their goals. She is a big believer that while she may know a fair bit about psychology, her clients are the true experts in themselves, and together they make a pretty good team. She looks forward to meeting you and learning how we can work together to achieve your therapy goals.

Kelli Rippon

Psychologist

Kelli is a Registered Psychologist, Certified ESDM (Early Start Denvor Model) therapist and experienced ABA therapist who has experience working with young children, primary school aged children, parents and families in a variety of settings. Kelli has experience in supporting clients to further develop their capacity to label different emotions (to expand their emotional vocabulary and understanding), build on their strengths and aims to understand the nature of every child and parent she works with. Kelli has a special interest in Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support (PBIS) and parent/teacher training to address behaviours of concern across a variety of settings including within clinic and at schools. Kelli has a gentle and calm approach and is passionate about working with individuals and their families. As an experienced registered Psychologist, Kelli continues to develop her knowledge within the field and has completed further study in her preferred area of supporting clients with neurodevelopmental disorders, early intervention and psychological testing.

Mrs Debbie Walker

Speech Pathologist

Debbie has had a long career working with children and adolescents as a Speech and Language Pathologist. Her job has taken her around the world where she has had extensive experiences with supporting a wide range of people with speech, language and communication needs. In Scotland, Debbie had a lead role in an Autism Diagnostic Team in the North of Glasgow. Debbie has always enjoyed working closely with children and their families to help them find the best ways to enhance language and communication, as these skills are the building blocks to later social and educational success and literacy acquisition. Debbie is skilled at looking at the needs, motivations and interests for each client to find the way forward for each family. There is no one approach that fits all and Debbie assesses and plans intervention that best supports your child or young person.

Nicole Mothershaw

Occupational Therapist

Suggested Bio: Nicole is a qualified Occupational Therapist who graduated from the Australian Catholic University in 2017. Following graduation, Nicole has worked in paediatric private practice, adult rehabilitation and hospital-based paediatric outpatient settings, working closely with medical teams for acute hand therapy and toileting interventions. These experiences have equipped her to effectively assist families with motor, self-regulation, sensory, school participation and daily living objectives. Nicole is passionate about working collaboratively with clients and families to identify and achieve meaningful goals through intervention that is fun and matches a child’s interest areas.

Tracy Mitchell

Psychologist

Tracy is a registered psychologist and Member of the Australian Psychological Association. She has over 20 years’ experience working with children and adolescents as a school counsellor, teacher and psychologist. Tracy works with children and their families to support difficulties with learning, behaviour and social issues. She has worked in public school in NSW for 12 years before moving to work in private school system for past 9 years. Tracy has an interest in working with children and teens with anxiety, depression and school based issues including bullying, behaviour difficulties and exam stress. She is able to provide academic, cognitive and behaviour assessment for issues including learning difficulties, ADHD, and gifted children. Tracy will work with the child’s family and school when needed to support positive change. She uses evidence bases therapies which best suit the individual child and family including CBT, ACT solution-based frameworks and positive psychology.
