Do you have an abdominal scar, including from c-section(s), laparoscopy(s), abdominoplasty, or other? Does it cause you pain, discomfort, pulling or altered sensations? Or are you unhappy with how it looks, or have a 'shelf' above the scar? Do you struggle to engage your abdominal muscles during abdominal exercises? Perhaps you have back pain, ongoing only since your surgery? If you answered 'yes' to even one of those symptoms, this consult type is for you. Let's spend time assessing your scar, and all abdominal muscles in your trunk to see what muscles are firing, and what are struggling to activate, possibly due to scar tissue adhesions. This session includes an assessment, goals, and then thorough treatment including some or all of; massage, myofascial release, breathwork, scar tissue massage, cupping, dry needling, therapeutic ultrasound, and other scar healing advice. I also recommend booking a review appointment for 2 weeks after this consult.

Are you currently lactating (or have recently ceased) and are suffering from pain, redness, tightness & tenderness in your breasts ? Feeling generally off? Know something doesn't feel right? Mastitis isn't something that should be left to "watch and wait" as it can worsen very quickly & make you quite unwell. I will always bring my ultrasound machine to these consults & provide you with advice and treatment to hopefully catch it before it worsens. Please don't wait to get help, and always chat to your lactation consultant, GP or medical provider.
Choose this service only if you have already had your ‘Women’s Health (or Postnatal) Initial Assessment’ at Port Lincoln Women’s Physio & if we have recommended a pessary would be suitable for you. Choose this service only if you are one of Port Lincoln Women’s Physio’s current pessary clients who needs to be seen for a check up, clean or replacement. If you have not had your pessary fitted at this clinic, you will need to book a ‘Women’s Health (or Postnatal) Initial Assessment’ first.
This service includes a comprehensive risk assessment of your pelvic floor and also other muscles required for running, to show you if you are low (green), moderate (orange) or high (red) risk for developing pelvic floor and prolapse issues. As well as a pelvic floor assessment, you will also be doing some lower body exercises, so sneakers and exercise wear are recommended. You will also be provided with a return to exercise guide. *** It is important to note, this service is NOT to provide management for any pelvic floor issues, rather just a screening. *** Treatment for any issues noted will require further follow up. if you know you are suffering from pelvic floor issues, it is recommended to first have a Women's Health Initial Assessment, and then we can come back to this at an appropriate stage in your rehab.
