This appointment is suitable for both adult & child first-time patients or those returning for their annual review. Biometric and retinal scans are built into the standard comprehensive eye examination which are not covered by Medicare. This is part of the standard level of care offered and is not optional.
If you suspect or know that you or your child has myopia that is progressing, please book this in to explore options to slow down the rate of progression. This can have significant impacts on future eye health, quality of life, and future cost of treatment. This eye exam includes an OCT scan, retinal photo, corneal topography, and axial length measurement. $210 if you do not have Medicare, or $140 out of pocket if you have Medicare.
If you are looking for an alternative to LASIK or eye surgery to correct your short-sightedness or myopia, book an appointment to explore whether Orthokeratology may be suitable for you. Before I can decide whether you are appropriate for orthokeratology, I do need to thoroughly assess your vision and eye health.
Choose this option if you already have a spectacle prescription, and are interested in purchasing new glasses, MiyoSmart, Stellest, 1.76 thinned high prescription Tokai lenses, Moisture Chamber Goggles, Mallee Bull Cycling Eyewear, or any other specific eyewear. This fee is reimbursed if you proceed with an order. If you need a prescription check, please book a 1 hour appointment (option "d") instead. The full $120 will be reimbursed if you proceed with an order.
If you are experiencing soreness or redness of the eyes, and need further assessment, without the need for a spectacle prescription check, then you can book this appointment. If there is significant discomfort, you are welcome to SMS, WhatsApp, or email me. However, it may be difficult to reach me or get an appointment at short notice. If there is no time that suits you and I'm unable to reply to you in a timely manner, please attend your closest optometrist. Additional fees may be required.
EXISTIG PATIENTS ONLY. If you have already undertaken a full comprehensive initial eye examination, and have been asked to return for a dilated eye examination, please book this appointment. You will need to bring your sunglasses and allow for 2-3hours of blurred/glarey vision where you should not drive. Eye drops will be instilled, you will wait 15-30 minutes for the drops to work, followed by a 15 minute assessment and 5-10 minute explanation of your eye condition and management plan.
If I have requested that you return for a follow up examination, please book this so that I can review your eye condition and provide further treatment and management if necessary. Private fee $60, or for those with Medicare $30. If the consultation requires more than 30 minutes, there is a schedule of fees for time on the website.
EXISTING PATIENTS ONLY. For a first time ever contact lens consultation package, the cost is $150. Please check my website to understand which private fee you will be charged for a thorough contact lens fitting package if you have previously worn contact lenses.
